ABOUT THE THEATRE
Originally a German City Theatre “Na hradbách”, built in 1881-82, designed by Ferdinand Fellner and Herman Helmer. The building has a neorenaissance facade and neobaroque interior and became the first theatre in Europe with electrical lighting. It became the seat of the Czech National Theatre Brno after the end of WWI.
INFORMATION FOR IMPAIRED PEOPLE
Wheelchair access is through the service entrance from Rooseveltova street. Theatre staff will help you get to the cloakroom area. There is a lift from the cloakroom to the first floor. Here you can use the seats in the presidential box. The maximum lift width is 65 cm. If the wheelchair is wider than 65 cm or longer than 105 cm, the National Theatre Brno staff will lend you a wheelchair of a suitable size on the spot.
